Years ago, I would joke my wife's bonus came just in time for us to pay our taxes. Guess who didn't find that very funny.

Bonuses aren’t found money, they’re recognition. Treat them that way first, then plan accordingly.

I see we’re doing this whole “paying off a low rate mortgage” debate again. The real answer is that it’s not your money or life. Focus on yourself. If someone made their life better by paying off their debt, that’s cool.
