The text on my cover photo reads:

"Never give up the fight for freedom and the truth"

Fr Jerzy Popiełuszko, murdered 40 years ago in Poland for his pro-Solidarity activism, and battle against extremism.
Super!

It would make sense...

He never was good-looking, was he?

But mainly embarrassing for the US.
A second hand prize accepted by a man who has publicly stripped other women and black people of acknowledgement for their work, contribution and achievements.
A very embarrassing day for the world

We have boxes of medals and trophies that my daughter won for Irish dancing years ago, in the garage.
However I'd need to see him execute a dance in both sets of shoes though, wearing a sparkly dress.
We'll even set up a podium and leave 2nd and 3rd place empty.

Me too. I've totally lost faith. It's not just the content of the coverage but the tone.

the European mission to Greenland was fourth in the BBC news running order this morning, which feels a bit like doing a light "and finally..." item about the archduke's motorcade taking a wrong turn in Sarajevo

Time to stop saying this. His own country isn't free.

Lots of people overseas care. The crowds will be largely Americans, paid to attend, much like Trump's rallies

They seem to forget that the US trained NATO forces in Europe, afaik. Pretty sure one of my cousins who did military service in his country told me they were trained by Americans.

I am also tired of this American rhetoric about being unbeatable, like they don't know their own history.
January 14, 2026 at 4:21 PM
Honestly, I had forgotten about some of them.

Oh ffs. I had all but forgotten about her over the past year and you bring her up again..
Is she still a thing?

Listen to, and love, Tim Miller from the UK.

🤣 sure you did...

This is at least 5-6 months old and before the most recent incidents in the US.

This photo came up as a memory on another platform.
Our lovely Mishka 12 years ago.
I still miss her quiet elegance and poise.
She was a beautiful cat, a rescue who chose us ❤️

Honestly not sure how anyone listens to him. He fries my brain with his nonsense.
January 12, 2026 at 8:29 AM
Can you say who it was?
January 12, 2026 at 7:55 AM
I don't really want to name her as she was doing good work at that time. But the manner of the arrival and that of others was interesting in its arrogance and assumptions. As Chris said, a fanfare was expected and tbf, some people provided it.

The party bit? It was a female who was very vocal about the Tories at the time. I don't hear much from her now.
January 12, 2026 at 7:48 AM
It's true. One celeb arrived on here with the words "let the party begin". Like the rest of us had been waiting for them or hadn't already been partying. Another begged people to let others know they're here to recoup their followers. I used the move to follow less of them and more ordinary accounts

He's not managed to defeat Ukraine yet...

Watched a few over Christmas.

But, he's already done it.
Is the wrong date on this? Should it have been 2025?
