My heart and hope are in DC today. As always, following these events on social media is disheartening when I see the illogical counterfactual conspiracy theorists that come up in response.

I just want to not be alone through it all. And find small evidences of humanity and compassion every day. Food, warmth, health, tangible love. I don't know if peace and absence of hate are realistic wants anymore.

Feels like american liberal arts academia, the supposed beacon of multiple perspectives, nuanced critical thought, and humanist philosophies is being revealed for its simplistic binary-thought foundations, ruled by "us" and "them" concerns like it's college football. Sigh.

Saw someone carrying their cat on the hike today. That was interesting. Also three kids. Each with their own water bottle. Not the cat though.

Rounding out summer at ragged mountain. The first and last fully sunny weekend of this summer and I'm using time alone to heal my spirit. Finally got brave enough to do this.
