Why is MAGA afraid of this simple sign?

Is Bluesky considering an Instagramish feature? I use Instagram 2 post art & discuss the arts. Instagram lets me do that intuitively & nearly wordlessly. Insta has cons & trolls but unless they’re interested in art I rarely hear from them. Meta is metastasizing, I & many others need an alternative.

Here r 2 paintings I reconsidered after finishing them. 1 was a radical do over & looks much better in my view & the other was a simple application of color which also improved the original, what do you think? The first 1 is nearly all red & was totally redone, the other a dab of yellow was added.

I’m very low on painting supplies & wanting to keep working at pace I bought some sidewalk chalk to pick up the slack in my picture making. Here are the results & the chalk brand I used. You'll see the misty, light coloring is different than my usual stuff but it adds another avenue for invention.

I posted an abstract in a virtual gilded frame. I did this to see what it looks like. I liked it though my intention is 2 frame it simply, floated & behind glass. Opinions went from blasphemy 2 congratulations. Creativity embraces ideas but it should not Straight Jacket them. C 2 below + extra.

Here r 2 from this week, mixed media, 24X30 on paper & 2 from 1969, pencil on paper, the same size. The 54 year old drawings were faded so I repaired them recently but in spite of not making any art for 45 years they remain similar. I work fast & very intuitively. Seems like more body than mind.

I love the random beauty of accident & have tried to illustrate it. Peanuts drawn randomly freehand, invented objects drawn to seem related randomly, filling a grid with random brushstrokes, drawing tools randomly drawn on a white plane. Ironically none of it is random, the beauty is in noticing.

3 drawings from my college days when I was challenging myself to draw things I had never thought to draw before. On the left a drawing based on electronic microscopic photography. In the middle is an interpretation of the moon & the one on the right the Sun. They are not copied photos.

Here is a group of paintings I did mid summer 2024. They represent a radical change from a more curvilinear & denser all over approach I was using at the time. It shook me up because they were so different on the other hand it was like a new hand at work and was refreshing. Change is good. Usually.

I reworked an old piece. My primary goal was to get a better image, my secondary goal was to bolster my self confidence. I had nothing to lose by virtue of not liking it to begin with. It came out stronger than I expected. Some new ideas and new paths to follow. Old piece on right.

From 1966. I'm 23. This was the first painting I ever did, inspired by electronics. I intended to incorporate a mannequin but that Idea was too expensive. Surprisingly I won a first place award. I thought it was ridiculous and never claimed it. It's house paint on plywood with a proper stretcher.
