We now have two male wintering Blackcaps vying for the chopped apples in our garden here in Limerick 🖤🖤 This was the only photo I could manage, as they're not exactly besties 🫣 #Birds

Turns out this Chiffchaff I spotted yesterday, is in fact a Siberian Chiffchaff. Cool!! A first for me ✔️ #Birds #BirdsSeenIn2026

Just about spotted this Chiffchaff today on the outskirts of Limerick #Birds #BirdsSeenIn2026 Wonder if he's an Irish bird that didn't migrate south for winter, or a visitor from mainland Europe?

Anyone good with Gulls? Spotted this one today in Limerick which kinda stood out. Any suggestions? #Birds

It could be any aircraft. But I did have to climb out on the back roof of our house in Limerick to get this very shaky footage of #AirForceOne on approach over the Clare Hills to Shannon Airport last night. In my defence, a distance of about 8km as the crow flies 🙈 #POTUS #B757

Thankfully the Blackcap we spotted a few days back has decided to stick around. The apples might have something to do with it 😁 Wonder if it's the same bird we had in our garden this time last year? @birdwatchireland.bsky.social #BirdsSeenIn2026 #Birds

Another slightly blurry, through the kitchen window pic, but nice to spot a wintering Blackcap in our garden here in Limerick 🖤 @birdwatchireland.bsky.social #BirdsSeenIn2026 #Birds

I'm more used to seeing Stonechats in coastal areas, but twas nice to spot one this afternoon on the outskirts of Limerick while I was waiting to collect one of the gang from school ☺️ #BirdsSeenIn2026 #Birds

Found these on the back of a large sheet of wood I was removing from my shed. I know very little about spiders, but Google tells me that they are two different types of False Widow. Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but they're now back in the shed 😬 #Spiders

Redwings are a common winter visitor to Ireland from Northern Climes, but not a common visitor to my urban garden here in Limerick, except for a rare one like this snacking on what's left of the Haws @birdwatchireland.bsky.social #BirdsSeenIn2026 Managed to get a pic from the kitchen window😃 #Birds
