This is an excellent article about a great exhibit at CHM (and I’m quoted!).
A Silicon Valley Museum Weighs Tech’s Promises and Perils
Set in the heart of Silicon Valley, the Computer History Museum long cheered the developments around it. Now, it’s taking a more nuanced approach.

I keep trying to imagine how the Republicans in Congress would have reacted to a democratic administration supporting Putin. Can’t get my head around it.

Destroying science, medical research, and universities is already well underway. We have heard from four different scientists in the last few days that they are actively calling colleagues abroad, asking about jobs.
i'll just add that completely gutting our science, technology and medical research and trying to destroy our universities is a very weird way to counter chinese aggression and influence

Very important article … the US government employees I served with were incredibly talented and energetic patriots. It will be a devastating loss to fire them.
The Department of Government Efficiency isn't interested in efficiency. Or transparency, or cutting costs. It's real goal is to destroy the federal civil service. In other words, regime change. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Hubby bought a small item from China. They just informed him that it will cost 30% more due to the new tariff. I explained that Trump said the company should pay, not us. Alas, hubby still wants the item so will pay.

Having briefly served in the federal government, my advice to DOGE is to start with reconciling and sunsetting laws. Much of the waste that I saw was well-meaning federal employees trying to implement a massive web of often conflicting and unnecessary laws.
