US Soccer, Houston Dynamo. Futbol is life.
Today a travel ban was announced by the Whitehouse of several countries, including World Cup qualified Iran.

How is this going to be handled?

Need to follow up the road trip with home wins. No draws. No losses. Home wins.

Instagram is another platform that needs to die. Stop using it. The damage to our youth is well established.

If Cavin Sullivan never becomes who we all think he can become -- it will be because of this massively mishandled situation with the league promoting him and treating him like a star when he has accomplished nothing. Nothing learned from the Freddy Adu debacle.

Arena said: "Americans will have to build a better soccer economy in the States. Go to more games. Watch more games. Buy more jerseys." That 2006 Dynamo team impressed me with how well coached they were by Dom Kinnear. And the Dynamo had guaranteed thrills with Dwayne Derosario.

I was hooked.

I would not be a fan of the Dynamo without Arena. I was a long-time soccer fan that found nothing in MLS. I went to Germany 2006, and Arena was asked "what will it take for the USA to compete at a World Cup?" I went to check out the Dynamo after reading his response: (cont)

Brad Davis is the legendary equivalent of McGlynn.

I don't get 9 Int slots used but only 8 available.

@soccerwisehq.bsky.social In your last episode the signal levels between you and @cboehm.bsky.social are sooo far apart it is painful. One has to choose between not hearing Boehm, or having your voice boom at painful volume. Please consider working on leveling the signals in future podcasts.

What minute of the game are you talking about? I saw a couple close calls, but never saw any clear errors. Maybe I missed one.

They can add both a big DP and an U22 DP.
April 29, 2025 at 9:58 PM
Lets be real clear for folks. Its not that it can by any of those. It can be ALL of those.
April 29, 2025 at 9:57 PM
As I understand it that all means the Dynamo can buy Lingr down, acquire a Big DP, and a U22 to replace Aliyu. Just want to clarify off the first sentence that suggests its one or the other.

Pablo Maurer did some great work. I really hope he gets picked up, and my Athletic subscription just got a less valuable to me.

Here is what I find most remarkable. 65k seats. That is not that big. So this investment is about restricting seats less than demand, less access to the experience, but more premium suites, seats, and much much higher prices. Attending sports is becoming a luxury for the wealthy and privileged.

I enjoy your writeups, but I am going to correct you on a minor fact you got wrong. Possession for the the Dynamo was under 50% against ATX.

Personally, I miss the fluid short-passing build-out and progression of the Herrera led Dynamo. This team is still struggling to figure it out.

Man I have such memories of RFK. From USA international games, to Dynamo games in regular season and playoffs, to the fantastic 2007 MLS CUP Final. I hope a new stadium is built, unlike SoFi and AT&T, to properly fit an international size soccer field.

You've obviously done a lot of thinking about this and research. Why do not anti-trust laws block USSF from doing what you are maligning them for not doing?
April 26, 2025 at 1:36 AM
Seems very likely to me that anti-trust absolutely is in play here. How would it not if you named one set of owners to get to compete and squashing competition? USSF has had to defend two big recent lawsuits over anti-trust.

Fair winds and following seas Ibrahim. Thank you for playing hard every minute you played in Orange.
April 24, 2025 at 8:48 PM
Good Luck Ibrahim! Thanks for being one who always played hard and gave their all.

Aliyu has been loyal hard working and at times, a significant contributor. I'm guessing he might benefit from Nancy's tutelage. Surplus now because of return of longterm injured players.

All but the toppest of top leagues in America should be regional.
