it does take a while for it to learn to separate the idea of having no task from being deprived of a task bc vk's favorite way to punish it or keep it on the back foot was to not directly let it know about something happening, or to refuse to involve it, so that it knew he didn't value it then

im just thinking LARGELY abt wulf dysphoria and the total sense of displacement that comes from being pushed back into a human body but it has to live, still, after all, and at least most of the general shapes are right but it's got this weight between its legs that it can't just ignore
