a few nice cameos from fringe players, Santos excellent, Josh good, even Delap looked like a football player when he came on. Maresca clearly had players he didn't fancy, hopefully a clean slate will inspire a few of them. And again, no defenders playing no. 10 hoorah!

appears to boil down to Maresca unable to take criticism. Taking the 'don't know what you're doing' chant to heart as edict to rotate and manage minutes came from above. The above wouldn't put a message that they were sabotaging the club to ensure sub standard players get minutes and protect value

I think the contract is it. Enzo wanted a new one or improved terms after the CWC win, instead the SDs gave themselves new contracts and pats no the back.

love the briefings coming straight out with it will be a new permanent head coach. We're mid-season in a world cup year. Who are you getting now that is an ideal fit and long term target? Not that 'permanent' really means anything when your two 5-year contract coaches lasted 25 months between them

Well I'll be damned, coach who did everything possible to insert as much City influence at Chelsea as possible is interested in the City job. Time to strip out the cancerous City faction entirely.

As much as I hate Maresca, he does have a point. A lot of the terrible squad decisions are nothing to do with him. Plus he's under pressure to play those players who aren't good enough.
