These are places where the schools are the heart of the community - where healthcare is available, food and clothing pantries are stocked, and Friday night football is like church to some. These are regions where no private school exists yet public funds pour out of the community. Shameful.

I was a rural kid. A poor kid. I went from poverty to a graduate degree thanks to public schools, teachers, and Pell Grants.

Love being at the @network4pubed.bsky.social conference. Our public schools in Ohio (and nationwide) need us to step up & speak out now more than ever. My choice is public schools - they cannot continue to be treated like the worst choice option for the 90% of students who attend them!
