These arguments over Judge Jeffrey Cummings’ orders governing ICE arrests around Chicago is underway in the 7th Circuit.

After a few technical question, Judge Tom Kirsch asks how many detainees remain in custody.

DOJ’s Benjamin Hayes says the number remains about 450.
The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is set to hear arguments in a little less than an hour over the order by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Cummings that aimed to release hundreds of people detained by ICE.

They'll be heard by Judges Thomas Kirsch II, John Lee and Doris Pryor.
