It looked like it was a foot-long subway sandwich. Reports say it contained salami. Today is salami sandwich day.

Why do somany news articles refer to the victims in the Epstein case as "accusers"? The case has long since been decided. They are assuredly victims. The days of mere accusations are passed.

How about a huge national protest day in which as many of us as possible wear trump masks/wigs. I'd suggest cankles but they don't make the same visual impact.

Neighbors were just playing "God bless the USA" and cheering. Woo freaking hoo. The ugly id of our national psyche runs shamelessly rampant these days

Tonight I had the extraordinary privilege of speaking at the anniversary of the lighting of the lanterns in Boston’s Old North Church, which happened 250 years ago tonight.

Irony=The president presumably focusing on fiscal waste, fraud and abuse has actually been convicted of fiscal fraud. The upside down la-la land world of MAGA.
April 17, 2025 at 2:07 AM
The economy of the late 19th century tariff outburst that MAGA now reveres was completely different than today's. Huge infrastructure industrial opportunities existed that led to energy, railroad, and manufacturing monopolies. Attempts to recreate this past are foolish.

Might it be considered a waste or abuse of taxpayers dollars to give them to El Salvador in order to create a reality show in which our government incarcerates people with tattoos in order to fuel its party's lust for bigotry?

The biggest drain on our economic system is the massive over-concentration of wealth and resources in the hands of so few people.

Trump is like an irresponsible bartender, desperate to be liked, who habitually overserves his followers and then sends them drunkenly careening into life at our forever peril.

The obsession with conspiracies confuses me because I typically find it difficult to get a small number of people to agree on simple things much less getting a large number of people to form a secret cabal.

Power over those they disparage is the new opiate of the red masses

I would really like a show of hands from all those people who believe that the businesses they work for are so flawlessly managed that they should be the examples for how we run our society. In other words, why do we believe businesses are better than government at running things in all cases?

MAGA celebrates the power of the feeling of shamelessness. It releases its collective inner id. Harm and damage are its joy.

Human beings crave status, but we are quite poor at actually having it.

The term "free speech" seems to have evolved into the lust for the power to be unchallenged, and to diminish those who we don't like.

The amount of MAGA spam email I'm getting is increasing daily. Anyone else seeing the same? It ranges from bad merch to bad financial advice. Can't make it stop.

On Sunday I thought about going to Grammys naked. Then a little voice said, "You know, what? That may not be the best idea."

There is this toxic myth that businesses are well-run and business leader are generally excellent at running things whereas governments are all flawed. Keep business leaders out of government and limit their damage to one company at a time rather than whole swaths of society.

Celebration for Pete tonight. It'll be open bar.
On Friday, the U.S. Senate narrowly confirmed Pete Hegseth to serve as President Donald Trump’s secretary of defense. In this role, he will oversee the U.S. military, its budget and policy.

Vice President JD Vance cast the tie-breaking vote to confirm Hegseth.
