My work on Airbnb, the city, and the drive for European integration is published in @europeanlawopen.bsky.social. Empirically studying the case of Amsterdam, I show how EU law structures the urban struggle over Airbnb and how the local platform economy acts as a new driver of European integration.
More and more countries see emigration (!) and not immigration as a challenge.
Together with Cecilia Bruzelius I asked how EU law structures emigration in an open border Europe and if it shows any sensitivity to brain drain and population loss.

Rotterdam pakt woekerhuren aan: verlagingen van honderden euro's in Carnisse. De gemeente boekt flinke resultaten, blijkt uit gegevens die @rijnmond.bsky.social heeft opgevraagd. Bij de eerste 13 woningen daalde de huur met gemiddeld €490 per maand.
