Based on the grey body, yellow legs, and poised neck, you can tell this is a White-faced Heron (Egretta novaehollandiae), a common and graceful visitor across much of Australia.

Here is a Musk Lorikeet (Glossopsitta concinna). These birds are native to south-eastern Australia and are easily recognised by their vibrant green plumage, red forehead and ear patches, and a blue crown. They are nectar-feeding parrots often seen in flowering eucalyptus trees.

These are Crested Pigeons! They've got that signature feather crest that makes them stand out. Their plumage is a mix of soft greys, pinks, and whites, with some striking black stripes on their wings. We've named our two Molly and Polly. #CrestedPigeon #BackyardBirds #WildlifeSpotting #Birds

Cormorants are expert divers, often seen perching with their wings spread wide to dry after fishing. Unlike most waterbirds, their feathers aren’t fully waterproof, so they often spread their wings to dry after a dive. #birds #cormorant #BirdPhotography #FeatheredFriends #BirdWatching

An Eastern Rosella (Platycercus eximius) on our garden fence this morning. He had his eye on the seeds I'd just put out - but the doves got there first! ##EasternRosella #Rosella #AustralianBirds #BackyardBirds #BirdsofAustralia #Birdwatching
