Out now on the cover of @journal-evo.bsky.social!

Led by Sarah Khalil, we took a genomic approach to investigate the hybrid zone between different-colored Red-backed Fairywren subspecies. We found some interesting candidate genes under selection. Check it out! academic.oup.com/evolut/advan...

I’m excited to announce that I am starting a postdoc position in the Gompert Lab at USU.

It brings me comfort and joy to study processes of change and adaptation- how boundaries between groups can break down and result in more variable and resilient populations. Catch me learning about 🦋 hybrids!!

For something uplifting... Mimulus is kind to its kin!

We add to the growing evidence that plants sense their neighbours and respond differently to kin vs unrelated individuals!

Congratulations to @isabeaulewis.bsky.social 🧪🌾 #evolution #mimulus #botany

I've been searching for the breakpoints of this adaptive chromosomal inversion for 15 years. We have now finally found those breakpoints and have discovered that the inversion contains an even older large inversion. This and more in this new preprint. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
