I once went on a nerd cruise and someone had figured out how to piggy-back on the boat’s WiFi to create a kind of “ship-only Twitter.”

I loved it, it was so fun and also not terrifying. I don’t know that social media needs to be planet-wide.

DAMASCUS:

1000s of prisoners have been freed from Sednaya prison, now flooding the streets, an monumental moment.

For many, the frantic search begins, desperate to know if their loved ones are among the living or the lost.

Either way, the "human slaughterhouse" is no more.

People not elected to government should not have the power to reshape the government, especially people whose obscene wealth depends on the government functioning a certain way.

This is not a hot take.

It's just plain common sense.

My god. It’s happening. A post-Bashar Syria.

The transition starts now. Make no mistake: it will be incredibly rocky.

But today, take a beat to hear the soft, human joy of many Syrians as they cry, embrace, learn if wrongly jailed loved ones survived & vow “now we can go home.” 🧵

I honestly don't think I've ever seen greater cognitive dissonance than in men who claim to love "Mad Men" because, as they put it, "men were men back then," somehow completely missing that the show is one giant, searing critique of toxic masculinity.
