I have to admit, Poilievre is correct about this. Bill C-2 has major privacy issues, and if this pushes the Carney government to correct them, then good on Poilievre.

Attended the book launch this evening of Ronald Deibert's history of the Citizen Lab, "Chasing Shadows" about his work to protect journalists and activists against cyber espionage. Good to know there are people like him fighting for all of us.

Spent my Xmas holidays catching up on some unread Brian Stableford at the Merril Collection of Science Fiction, Speculation & Fantasy at the Toronto Public Library. It's a shame so much of his work is out of print.

Just finished Kent Roach's "Canadian Policing: Why & How it Must Change" (Picked it up at Word the on Street this year). A compelling read on the many problems with Cdn policing (often from its paramilitary origins) and ways to move forward, if our politicians have the courage to do so.

Met my Ontario MPP Peter Tabuns (NDP) at a pop-up office this weekend. Asked about the possibility of Liberal/NDP coordinating to keep PCs from winning seats by vote splitting. He replied talked about this with Liberal friend, but feel Liberal votes more likely to go to PCs.
