We are blown into orbit around an island of trash. Gulls rest their wings and scavenge dead fish. I no longer feel pain or have cravings for food. The hair on my chest is bleached white and itches like nettles.

How certain is life with a few random fish and little rain water to help wash them down?
No longer having means for propulsion we are at the mercy of prevailing winds and ocean currents. Every morning we see flying fish and at night acrobatic lights performing miraculous tricks. We seldom get sleep but unexplainable things seem to sustain us.

Day two of uncertain seas. We are taking on water but don’t seem to be sinking. Most remain optimistic. The pessimists among us are counting our days without using fingers.
