In my 56 years of life, I have seen and been through some shit, but I have never been afraid of the country completely collapsing. I worry more now as a parent of boys on the autism spectrum about the world we will leave them when I am gone.

There are no greater moments in life than when my youngest son, who is on the autism spectrum and nonverbal, makes an effort to connect with me or my wife. Love is not a strong enough word to describe what we feel in those precious moments.

Wars on poverty, drugs, and terror: never-ending and incredibly expensive. We are a nation that likes wars, likes slogans, and likes to pretend we are doing something positive.

Fear and ignorance allow for ease of control. Education and empathy allow for growth of character.

I am old enough to remember people telling me Trump didn't have anything to do with project 2025.
