We've now got 2 regulars coming by the feeder, so I snapped off a couple of shots today. I love the way the colored glass gives interesting hues to the already-gorgeous hummingbird!

We now have a smoke tree, which I'd never seen before. In summer, it is covered with 6-inch pink balls that later dry out like tumbleweeds and blow around the neighborhood. Turns out the fall colors are lovely, too! #Fall #Flowers

Evidently, all airplanes flying in and out of Portland are required to fly by Mt Hood.... You can see the Columbia River off in the distance in the first image.

Yeah, this whole atmospheric river / bomb cyclone thing makes me see water everywhere! My backyard is so soggy I have waterfalls! Oh, wait, these are in the Columbia Gorge.

I saw that Thomas Kurtz (BASIC co-inventor) died. 50 years ago (!), I wrote my first program on a timesharing terminal. Then came FORTRAN, COBOL, Common Lisp, Pascal, Javascript, C++, Emacs Lisp, multiple assembly languages.... And still programming!
