Part of high school should be learning about and participating in the running of the school, not from a labor side but from the management and administration. Same for a school district as a whole. Save a lot of overhead costs and teach practical community based skills.

No you can’t have a small neighborhood school where the entire staff knows and is dedicated to every kid there. Wouldn’t be efficient.

Cedar Rapids Public Schools spends who knows how many hundreds of thousands of dollars on communication staff and has a terrible public image to show for it. So now they have to spend $75k on an outside ad agency to try and boost enrollment declines that they caused!

So what’s going on with the foreign intelligence operation side of the Epstein story. Like many very powerful people including the current and at least one former president have been living under blackmail threat this whole time? Or it was a blackmail thing but stopped being? Seems like a big deal

The least Iowans can do is allow many Indians (500,000?) to move here and live peacefully in our hospitable climate
In the first chapter of Kim Stanley Robinson's speculative climate fiction book "The Ministry for the Future" 20 million people die in a heat wave in India when a wet bulb event covers the country. It's one of the most terrifying and memorable scenes I've ever read.

Maybe I’m wrong but there has to be a secular majority in Iowa who don’t think “passion to serve Christ” is a quality we are looking for in a Governor

Next year, we can end the two party system in Iowa by electing 100 public servants to the Iowa House, and passing needed reforms that will improve our state.
Partisanship is the fundamental issue of our time, and we need to do something about it before it's too late.

If you’re from Arizona and 24, you get 60 days in jail and nearly deported. If you’re the future Governor of the state and 40 you get let go and get to be the Governor
Because that’s not actually what happened. She was on probation for an OWI 2nd, picked up a new Driving While Barred and had some other technical violations and they revoked her probation, giving her 60 days in jail.

When Cedar Rapids School Board was debating cops in schools a few years ago this CEO came and was like my daughter and her friends all talk about how much they love the school cops at their sleepovers. very unpersuasive messenger on the subject for me.
