I have a plan for the future, should we get the chance, that will guarantee that Congress will represent us and understand exactly what it's like to live as an average American in this country.
Devlyn's plan for the political future of this country: You want to run for Congress or President? New requirements! Pass a test about the Constitution & how the government works. Pass a criminal background check. Live for 1 year in an apt while working at Walmart. You may only live on your wages & whatever govt benefit you're eligible for. You will simulate having 2 children living with you, so you must figure out transportation, child care & food, all while renting a place big enough for all of you. You can only buy a car if you save the money from working. If you can't afford a car, you better hope there's public transportation or you'll be walking. You must pay all the fees, gas, insurance & maintenance. During this year, you will simulate several scenarios. First, you will be sick with pneumonia & out of work for 2 weeks. Maybe you'll lose your job because you're sick. You probably can't afford insurance, so you'll put off going to the doctor until you're really sick. Your medications will be too expensive, so you'll have to get creative & still feed your children. Next, your children will get sick 2-3 times each, at different times, & require medical care & you'll need to figure out who's going to take care of them because you'll get fired if you miss anymore work. Then, if you have managed to get a car, it will have a major mechanical issue. You'll need to figure out how to get it fixed, but until you can, you're without a car. Then your mom gets sick & can't live alone anymore. Now you'll need to figure out where she'll go. With you? A home? You're barely surviving as it is. Good luck with that. If you survive a year without killing your kids, or Mom, or going to jail for being homeless because you lost everything due to the high costs of living and low tolerance for missed days of work regardless of the reasons, then you have a good idea of what regular American deal with every single day, and you *might* be ready to represent them in Congress. If you can't make it year, welcome to reality! You better start protesting & advocating for change in the system so that you can pass the bare minimum to represent the rest of us that are struggling in ways that never occurred to you before you lived in our world.

TRUMP TO STATES: “IMMEDIATELY UNDO ANY STEPS TAKEN TO ISSUE FULL SNAP BENEFITS" USDA U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE DATE: November 8, 2025 SUBJECT: Updated Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) November Benefit Issuance TO: Regional Directors SNAP Division All Regions SNAP State Agency Directors All State Agencies This memorandum is a follow up to the guidance shared on October 10, October 24, November 4, November 5, and November 7, 2025, regarding Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for November 2025. The U.S. Supreme Court granted the U.S. Department of Agriculture an administrative stay of the orders issued by the District Court of Rhode Island in Rhode Island State Council of Churches, et al. v. Rollins, 25-cv-569. Pending any explicit direction to the contrary from Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), States must not transmit full benefit issuance files to EBT processors. Instead, States must continue to process and load the partial issuance files that reflect the 35 percent reduction of maximum allotments detailed in the November 5 guidance. To the extent States sent full SNAP payment files for November 2025, this was unauthorized. Accordingly, States must immediately undo any steps taken to issue full SNAP benefits for November 2025. Please advise the appropriate FNS Regional Office representative of steps taken to correct any actions taken that do not comply with this memorandum. Per 7 CFR 271.7(h), failure to comply with this memorandum may result in USDA taking various actions, including cancellation of the Federal share of State administrative costs and holding States liable for any overissuances that result from the noncompliance.
