Conceived by Josh Wardle, the original 2017 experiment began without notice and various chaotic and coordinated efforts clashed over space on the 1000x1000 canvas. Collaboration between adjacent communities led to unique results; check out Roland Rytz's atlas here: 2017.place-atlas.stefanocoding.me

First launched on April 1, 2017 (and rebooted in 2022 and 2023), Reddit's /r/place provided a canvas for millions of users and the site's myriad communities to create an interconnected virtual patchwork of flags, symbols, art, and memes - one pixel at a time: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R/place

Happy to see a very entertaining 4 Nations Face-Off tournament over the past two weeks. Really high quality best-on-best hockey which hasn't been seen for 9 years. Proud to see Canada win though it was a tight one against a very strong US team. Looking forward to rematches at the Olympics in Italy!

Star Trek: Voyager premiered 30 years ago today; my introduction to a lifelong fandom and it will always be a special show for me. I don't know if any Trek of the 21st Century can be called a great work of art, but there's been some strong recent franchise entries. Excited for Strange New Worlds S3!
