A huge benefit of running a demand test to validate your SaaS before you build it:

You can go back to the drawing board and reimagine it as many times as it takes to find success

Can't get back the lost development time if you build first 🤔

Do you choose projects based on the game you’re playing?

Finite games = short-term wins
Infinite games = long-term momentum

Make sure you're building skills and results that compound over time and that you can benefit from forever (to infinity)

Avoid side quests that lead nowhere

So much I want to do, but can’t do it all at once

This is why you focus on creating artifacts -- things that last and build momentum

Avoid starting from zero

Play infinite games

Build, improve, keep going

Skills and results will compound over time

To make it easier to post when building in public

Keep a dev log (just a bullet point list in a notes app) as you go. Then look back and see if you can turn anything into posts

Too hard? Paste your dev log into ChatGPT and ask it to come up with posts from that

Sometimes when I'm not feeling particularly motivated to work on my app...

(the amount of tasks can be daunting)

I look at what needs to be done and see what feels the most fun. What can I work on that will provide novelty and new discoveries? What will provide dopamine?

Then I'm all in again
