Saw #Highest2Lowest last weekend and I'm still thinking about it. Pure cinematic pleasure. Spike never forgets that movies are more than just isolated words, sounds, and images - he creates a particular kind of poetry and Highest 2 Lowest is his latest example of that.

My favorite scene from Philadelphia and some of Denzel's best work. Hanks does the heavy lifting in this scene but it's Denzel's face, serving as the audience's gateway into a dying man's soul, that makes it all work so beautifully. #Denzealots

The Preacher's Wife, directed by Penny Marshall, came out nearly 30 years ago. Denzel plays a charming angel sent to help a disillusioned preacher played by Courtney B. Vance. The chemistry between Washington and Whitney Houston is incredible. It's must-see this season for #Denzealots.
