The opulent Chicago Theater is incredible both on the outside and the inside. This gorgeous theater was built in 1921 and is now the oldest surviving grand movie palace. On this particular evening we got to see The Yeah Yeah Yeahs perform here and they were just amazing.

This 154 foot tall neo-Gothic structure is the Chicago Water Tower. It originally housed a standpipe for the city’s water pumping station. It is famous as one of the few structures to survive the 1871 Chicago Fire and stood as a symbol of the city’s resilience. #photography #architecture #Chicago

The John Hancock Center, now known as 875 North Michigan Avenue. The 100 story building was completed in 1969 and was the second tallest building in the world at the time, only surpassed by the Empire State Building. Today there are at least 24 buildings taller. #Chicago #CityPhotography

These buildings at Þingvellir National Park have a long and rich history. The current church was built in 1859 and replaced one that previously existed here. Today the house closest to the church is the summer residence of the Prime Minister.

Þingvellir (or Thingvellir) National Park is a remarkable place with incredible geological features and highly important historical significance. As you walk down the Almannagjá Trail, you are viewing the gorge where the North American and the Eurasian Tectonic Plates meet.

Eldborg is a beautifully formed volcanic crater that rises 60 meters above the surrounding lava field. It is 200 meters in diameter and is believed to have last erupted 5000-6000 years ago.
