I never imagined we would normalize the kind of mass death & disability we’ve accepted in last five years.
People were annoyed at having to do things they didn’t want to do (mask, avoid indoor dining) and resigned themselves to repeat covid infections that COULD be prevented

Dr Oz, Trump's new CMS boss, during height of covid: "Schools are a very appetizing opportunity. I just saw a nice piece in The Lancet arguing the opening of schools may only cost us 3% in terms of total mortality. Any life lost is a life lost, but that might be a tradeoff some folks would consider"
