I kinda hate that none of our media has a sense of age in 40/50 years time. There will be no dreamlike mist or glow to anything. No one's gonna look wistfully at HD digital pictures of young grandpa with the sense that so much time has past, cause it'll look like grandpa was 20 like yesterday.

We now have to say goodbye to yet another absolute titan of classic cinema. One so impactful to the aesthetic of film, no other artist could possibly compare. Regardless of the contents of a film, before you even knew who he was, his posters drew you to that movie.

Brian Froud's illustrations have always been inspiring to me, but seeing him in action is just next level. There's such finesse in the hardness and softness he choses for the linework, and with so much intent without construction. Just letting his pencil run free!
