I didn’t see the segment but I read the transcript and IMHO there was nothing you said that was not factual. We’ve seen too many assassinations in this country and too much hate speech. I appreciated your voice and point of view on MSNBC but as usual networks run from unfiltered opinions.

Sorry Matthew, but you were right to decry Charlie Kirk's vitriol against the left. We all know how he praised David DePape, who cracked Paul Pelosi's skull. People like Kirk incite these bots to act, and are we forbidden to say the truth like you just did on live TV?
You should not apologize.

@MSNBC HOW wrong to fire Matthew. Are we now going to pretend Kirk didn’t say horrible things? So now commentators don’t have free speech? Total crap, @MSNBC.

Matthew, you have and continue to be one of the most thoughtful and rational voices to grace the airwaves and social media. Your words were not malicious, but simply truth. God bless you.

Mr. Down you have reason to be apologetic. I have been disturbed by the “sanitizing” of who Charlie Kirk was.

Obviously we don’t wish him to be murdered, but just because he was doesn’t wipe away all the horrible things he has said.

I’m sorry to hear MSNBC fired you for stating a fact. You seem to be a genuinely good human and didn’t deserve it.
I, for one, understand what ment. Shame on them!

Kirk has already received much more attention than he deserves. He was a hate monger who died due to the environment his hatred created and continued to feed.

You do not have to apologize. You were speaking the truth about his own words and how they might lead to violence. I am so sorry that MSNBC fired you for your own analysis of the situation. Trump seems the only one allowed to speak negatively and dangerously. And no one has the guts to censor him.

You spoke truth, an objective fucking truth.

Charlie Kirk created the environment in which Charlie Kirk was murdered.

Period.

The culture of political violence sits squarely on the shoulders of Donald Trump and his violent fascist henchmen. The footage of Trump inciting violence goes back to 2016. You just don't find that kind of violent rhetoric from major liberal political figures and voices. I am just being honest.

I think @msnbc.com firing you was unwarranted, unfair and shows a trend of Mainstream Reporting outlets bending the knee to Trump.

If they had suspended you for a few eps, I would have agreed with that decision. But firing was a bridge WAY too far.
