Good harvest day!!! So many intact better boy tomatoes, slicing cucumbers, a pickling cucumber, few peppers, green beans, and 2 of several onion beds.

When it happens, success is tasty! Everything bagel with cream cheese and cucumber and lemon boy tomato from the garden.

Someone keeps munching on our tomatoes forcing me to harvest them early. I'm cutting off the chewed on parts of the ones that won't ripen and cutting them up and freezing them for a chutney later. And I'm hoping the rest will ripen inside. It's not ideal, but it's the best I can do.

Sigh. Our emotionally needy peach tree. Several times when we've had these heavy storms with high winds, our peach tree will fall halfway down. And every time, we up the structural reinforcements. This time we've added heavy duty stakes and rebar. I hope this holds.

Another big harvest day!

Really simple garden food prep day. I'm excited about the pickles. And I made a little meal of roasted beets and goat cheese on toast.

Corn! This is my first time successfully growing it! Also lots of yellow squash and tomatoes. Peppers are coming in and both slicing and pickling cucumbers! It's shaping up to be a pretty successful season.

Celery harvest day! I made braised celery with lentils, Persian mushroom celery stew, cream of celery soup, and a celery apple salad with garden lettuce, pistachios, cheddar, and balsamic dressing for dinner. I also had a virgin bloody mary while cooking cause it fit the theme.

I don't know what I did to attract so many lizards to my yard this year. I wish I did cause I'd do more of it. 🦎

Garden progress pics! Everything's coming along beautifully! We're going to have so many onions and garlic! I am harvesting the bok choy soon. I have such good luck with that. I'm really glad I chose to container garden the overflow seedlings. I'm making notes of what changes to make going forward.

Got all the ollas in the beds and planted the onions, broccoli, lettuces, bok choy, swiss chard, celery, and sewed the sugar snap peas. The garlic has been there a while. Only one of the beds looks like anything right now, but it's still early. Lots of seeds still starting.

Two big elements of the garden this year. One, I did a lot of of planning in advance. Everything's in a spreadsheet and marked in a calendar. Two, we need to keep costs down this year. I've already had to buy onion slips this year. But the broccoli, celery, and greens are coming along well.

I finally put up my gallery wall a couple weeks ago. I love it and it makes me happy every time I look at it. ❤
