One of the many reasons I follow US politics so intensely. Our conservatives take lessons from what works for their American counterparts - fear mongering to mask their plans to defund and undermine essential public services and funnel public money to their corporate donors.

This. Also compare the time and money spent by conservative orgs to groom young conservatives for positions of power and fund them through their rise across political, media, judicial roles, etc.
You don't just get to *have* a leftwing ecosystem out of nowhere; you have to facilitate it. The right has spent years doing it. They ONLY give interviews & news to rightwing outlets. The left doesn't even come close to doing that.

We will not win so long as this media asymmetry exists.
