Sony Music Solutions Inc. has posted a press release statement on their website announcing the decision to serialize a new Japanese manga adaptation of MDZS. I've roughly translated the press statement portion (the rest is a synop of MDZS) for those interested.

"The serialization of a Japanese manga version of China's megahit novel MDZS has been decided.

With its grand storyline and charming characters, author MXTX's BL fantasy novel MDZS has met with explosive popularity around the globe. Adapted into audio drama, manhua, live action drama, and donghua formats, the series has expanded to all sorts of media types which combined have surpassed 10.5 billion views. Starting from the live action drama CQL's subtitle version, which aired in Japan in March of 2020, we have seen the donghua (seasons 1 and 2) both subtitle and dub versions, followed by the live action's dub, and then the donghua final season's subtitle and dub versions all broadcast here in Japan and become a great topic of conversation.

And so on this occasion, in response to the voices of long time fans (including ones in China) who have long-awaited a novel-faithful manga re-adaptation, we at Sony Music Solutions, Inc., who had a hand in the release of the live action and anime adaptations here in Japan, are announcing the decision to serialize a Japanese manga (monochrome) version of MDZS. In accordance, we have also released a teaser visual.
