well, Sydney is in a relationship/body-sharing thing with Fray, who is his shard from the 13th, so. yeah. he absolutely would.
as for other shards, it depends. him and Ardbert didn't really click like that, and Calyx is obviously off the table because he's a child, but as for any others? who knows

bumping this again because I've had a lot of expenses lately (including new tires for my car which cost over $900.. augh) and anything helps!
I have a ko-fi that I use occasionally—absolutely no pressure to donate anything, but it is there. I'm hoping to get back on hrt later this year now that some other irl things have been settled (insurance issues, etc), and any bit helps ;;

op is right in that a lot of the people who play this game do not know what they're signing up for and that's sadly something they need to deal with. when the writers decide to make the player character go through stuff, it is not meant to be anything besides a story telling point of intrigue.
It's all "I want WOL to get hurt more" until it happens in a way that's cool and interesting and actually questions/confronts WOL's agency, then it's an affront to the MSQ and "unsafe" for players. See also: the 4.0 scripted Zenos fights, In from the Cold, literally anything to do with Ilberd,
