HB49 has passed the House and now heads to the Senate for consideration. This legislation updates how wagering revenue from historical horse racing is distributed, supporting horse racing facilities and increasing funding for problem gambling treatment and support services.

HB369 has passed the House and now heads to the Senate. This bill strengthens Virginia’s Renewable Portfolio Standard, clarifies “zero-carbon electricity,” and supports accelerated clean energy buyers, helping move the Commonwealth toward cleaner, reliable power.

HB1130 has passed the House, giving local governments and school boards flexibility to use surplus property for workforce housing so teachers, first responders, and other public employees can afford to live in the communities they serve. The bill now heads to the Senate.

After Appropriations approval this week, HB183 moves to the full House. The bill expands the tax-exempt First-Time Home Buyer Savings Plan to include townhomes and updates savings limits to better reflect today’s housing market. Read more here:

HB 182 passed the House Education K-12 Subcommittee today. The bill allows African American History or AP African American Studies to satisfy certain required history and social studies graduation credits and now moves forward in the House.

Met this morning w/ David & Stephanie Meeker who were the inspiration for my legislation that allowed them to foster and then adopt four siblings whose mother had been murdered. Helping people like the Meeker’s and their adopted children are what makes the job of Delegate so rewarding.
