I had faith in my own ability, I’d stand up for anyone I could at any time. But when it came to him, to his power and his crazed mind, I knew it was a losing battle. If we fought back, we were going to need something huge.

I trusted the Brothers, and I knew why the ones who were free were rarely seen. Wrath still spoke to those left in the city twice a month, and it was a huge deal. The Omega reveled in their panic levels, something you couldn’t hide with someone so powerful nearby.

Showing that we could do as we were told, and not rock the boat. Of course I suspected that there were things happening, but since minds could be read and feelings could be tapped into, it was best to just ignore anything you could.

The cruel games the Omega played was enough to make most females dread their needing even more than they might normally. Whether they had a male to serve them or not.
So, here I was. Doing as I’d been instructed, not causing waves.

Torture was second nature to most of us now, we expected it, but were always surprised when we were picked. Hopeful that he’d have forgotten about us by the time he felt in a mood again. We were just glad he avoided the civilians. We’d lost enough of them in the first wave,

I was doing as I always did. Passing messages between the civilians in each small block and the next. They were technically allowed out at night, and some did. But rarely past their front gates. We did deliveries and the lessers were basically glorified prison guards.

He moved where he wanted, when he wanted. There were Brothers that he’d taken, they weren’t doing too well, but they were doing the best they could given the circumstances. I saw them often, and it made me sick every time.

Sacrifices had to be made, but we’d convinced him to send some to the other side with Lassiter. As well as set up whole town blocks for civilians who could work or recruit. In short, thanks to V and his mhis, he’d taken over nothing short of an entire city. Multiple times.

He’d managed to cripple our resources and Wrath had eventually had no choice but to make a deal. The Omega had been smart enough to know that he needed stealth as well as brute force to ensure he kept everyone in line, and with the truce we’d been able to keep a few of our numbers alive.

In short, we’d lost.
The Brotherhood had tried to overcome the Lessers and the Omega, but he’d managed to raise an army of his kind. He’d depleted himself in the process, but with his children roaming free, and coming back to him when they died, he just regenerated.

~ I made my way through the main street, it was a straight run between where we normally appeared and the camp entrance. There were fires in the streets, and occasionally a blind twitched where someone checked to see what was going on and who was walking to their post.
