Hate the obsession w/ making everything kid-friendly, the world shouldn't cater to children all the time. That's your job as a parent, to protect them and surveil what they get access to. Content and media isn't supposed to raise your kids, you are. There are things that just aren't meant for kids.

4th of July always makes me miss my dog Buddy, he was a hunting dog before I had him and LOVED the loud bangs, wanted to search for his catch SO BAD so we had a stuffed duck we would throw every time one went off and he'd come back and lay it at our feet so proudly.

Life lessons it took me way to long to learn, "Evil" people are the best friends one could ever have. I would be dead without my little gaggle of folks who have done the worst things.

6 years old, first day of break and spending it at the library, cracking open Dinotopia, Goosebumps... and The Diary of Anne Frank for the first time. The sticky heat of early summer makes the condensation gather thickly on the old windows, there are ladybugs on the windowsill and each has a name.

IDK why but to me the most annoying thing in the world is when people get annoyed over stupid shit that's just part of life. Folks who get annoyed at things like standing in line, traffic, children being loud, waiting for things, etc. are more annoying to be around than all of those things combined.
