On this day in 1975 Deep Purple played the second show of their "Come Taste The Band" Tour in Auckland, New Zealand. The show was later released as a bootleg. David Coverdale was arrested after the show for liberal use of the F-word. @davidcoverdale

On this day in 2010 Tony Edwards passed away. Tony was one of the founders of HEC along with Ron Hire and John Coletta. Edwards was instrumental in getting Blackmore and Lord together and starting the band that would become Deep Purple. R.I.P., Tony.

On this day in 1944 Tim Rice was born! As co-writer of Jesus Christ Superstar Tim Rice was instrumental in recruiting Ian Gillan to play the part of Jesus, setting in motion the course of Jesus Christ Superstar for years to come. Happy birthday, Tim!
