Sure is a curious amount of effort for an old decrepit and supposedly empty tanker to quickly reflag to Russia and await a submarine escort.

We can only hope that the more appalling these become, the more traction some guardrails will gain.

Might be too optimistic of a POV though, I guess.

Due to Tennessee’s abortion ban, Mayron Hollis was forced to continue a pregnancy that threatened her life. An emergency delivery left her without a uterus and her baby with medical issues.

This was their first year in a post-Roe state (pub. Feb. 2024):
She Was Denied an Abortion After Roe Fell. This Is a Year in Her Family’s Life.
Tennessee law prohibits women from having abortions in nearly all circumstances. But once the babies are here, the state provides little help. We followed one family as they struggled to make it.

Dmitri, I value your posts on here a lot and always thought of them as accurate and reliable.

Posts like these make me question that, and I don't want to :(

Feels a little incomplete without mentioning that the person who awarded the HLS contract to SpaceX in April 2021, not uncontroversial at the time, left NASA to work at SpaceX, on Spaceship, in April 2023.

Unfortunately, the people that need to know these kind of facts are the ones more likely to think people just lived to 35 back then, and not infant mortality bringing it down.

What I do in video games: hoard powerful buffs and potions for whenever I might *really* need them, and then never use them.

Might be the first purchase I have trouble resisting after stopping all purchases since the Razbam incident.

How's the performance? Looks great.

🧵 I want to follow up this earlier thread by examining why the USA finds itself in the state it does at the moment; the process of disordered discourse capturing state institutions and how it inevitably results in a slide towards authoritarianism, a process we're seeing unfold before our very eyes.
What we’re witnessing in America is what happens when disordered discourse captures a political party, then the state itself. The Republican Party was the first to fall - abandoning truth for conspiracy, ideology for grievance, and policy for performative outrage.

Unfortunately, the Gripen is also quite dependent on the US, considering it uses a General Electric engine.

Either way, tough questions ahead.

This. A *serious* actor won't find fraud this way.

But then again, they're not looking for actual fraud, are they?
