Trust is critical to the survival of any democracy. Once you destroy trust in our institutions, academia, the courts, etc, the only thing that will work is a dictatorship. This is why would-be dictators always work first to destroy trust as they increase terror.

Today in a city we used to live in. I know this street well. The people were celebrating a holiday similar to Mardi Gras.

We have no greater need than for everyone to sincerely practice loving their neighbor, no matter how different they might be, as ourselves.

I think it is dangerous to teach "just obey" -- We need a population that thinks and stands up for what is right in all circumstances instead of just doing what they are told without considering how it affects other people or if it is right.
