BLUEROT SPORES - This fungus could explain why so many subterrainian areas appear to be picked clean beyond reason

Easily identified in subterranean environments, the pale bioluminescence of these spores nestled between crevices of rock and stone were initially thought to be the souls of those that disappeared in caverns and catacombs. It's now understood that these spores feed on natural materials over time, growing into a rotting, cosmic-blue mould exponentially until they consume the material in full before dying off. At this point, it begins feeding on itself and dispersing further spores into the surrounding area, persisting the cycle and can result in clearing out entire rooms over time. Studies are unsuccessful as to explain why these spores appear to be unable to take hold while over ground. As such the spread between sites, as sparse as they are, remains a mystery. Cultivation of spores to mould in self-contained environments such as jars has been proven possible, though requires daily feeding and maintenance to ensure it does not die off or consume itself. JAR OF BLUEROT (item) A bluerot spore can be lifted and contained in a vessel, so long as both implements making contact are made of unnatural materials, ie glass or metal. The spore will lie dormant until it is introduced to a natural material in an enclosed environment. On doing so it will grow over the course of an hour into bluerot mould, consuming and growing to a clump about the size of a human heart. This sample of mould will sustain for 24 hours, within which time it must be fed or rapidly die off. If made contact with a larger sample of material, even above ground after cultivation, the mould will consume it doubling in size each hour. Once finished, due to the exponential nature of it's growth, the mould will rapidly consume itself and die within one additional hour. This final process disperses further mould spores into the environment and should be noted as such by the GM.

Natural elements in proximity to lairs laid claim by the powerful undead are known to experience unexpected phenomena. One such example being petrified samples of sedge rooted in loam, the resulting gnarled web of stone having taken in the nutrients of the varied soil resulting in a much more brittle consistency. When the soil has been removed, special care must be taken to not break the roots as doing so can cause them to immediately crumble to dust and be impossible to remove clean from the dirt. Powdering and ingesting these stone roots have shown results of hallucinogenic effects and is coveted within higher echelons of society, some subjects even report a sensation of precognition. All subjects though experience intense nausea and headaches over the following day, though. ASHEN SOD (consumable) DR13 Agility to successfully harvest a single dose from the roots of petrified grass in sod. If these roots powdered and consumed, the character experiences a deep euphoria and the GM rolls a d6 and keeps the result hidden. On a result of 6, the GM can reveal something in detail that will occur over the following in-game week. Any other results can give clues within a dense description, but contains falsehoods as well. One hour after consumption, the character falls to the sensation of a knife piercing their skull for a whole day.

PROBUSCIS REED - Somewhat haunting tones can be heard when the wind catches this flora just right

The prompt "fangs" inspired the blood-letting aspect, but wanted to see what direction I could take it

Description A hollow reed used by those with medical knowledge as a means of releasing fluid build up and blood-letting in more difficult patients. The soft, minute barbs along the shaft of this reed dig into flesh when attempting to remove it. This allows the tip to break off, rooting itself deeper into the patient's flesh and proving difficult to extract without further incisions. Uncommon, though typically found growing around still water that holds the blood of many men. BONE AMALGAM - This hulking mass of bone and sinew holds a fragile quarry deep within

A fun start to the month, though already not looking forward to drawing this for the compendium

Ominous cracks and splinters announce the presence of this beast, though many hesitate to call it such as no two hold the same shape. Deep within the harvested detritus of various corpses lies a vacant orb, no larger than the skull of a new-born. This "heart" is sought out as a curse component though can prove to be difficult to obtain without shattering and, as such, is highly coveted. Very rare as nobody knows where the heart comes from, the few reports there are suggest they may be found at the sites of mass graves where many died at once. HP: Special Morale: not applicable Armour: Brittle Shell (none) Attack: Contortion of Bones (Special) Special: When the Bone Amalgam first appears, roll a d4. It's HP is four times the result+2 and its attack deals damage in an amount of d4s equal to the same result. Captured: 100 silver. Heart of Bone: 260 silver.
