Massive thanks to @dugganjr.bsky.social for organising yesterday’s event on social murder and the government’s proposed reforms of the benefit system. @sarasiobhan.bsky.social’s forthcoming book is going to be so important and it was great to speak alongside such a brilliant scholar & activist.

Last year Steph was finally rehoused in a permanent, accessible newbuild council flat - which then proved to be riddled with faults, including the only lift regularly breaking down. She's now had to be moved into a hotel.

I was pretty brutally honest at today's event. Parent carers aren't supported. We aren't even seen as individuals, we can't look after our own health and well-being. The awful reality around parent carer suicide, transitions been non existent for our children or us. Services constantly failing us.

Off to Parliament this morning to talk about all things transitions to adult services (or lack of) and how we support parents carers. Or in reality how we don't support them properly or enough. #carersrightsdsy
