Lunacharsky Classical Style 2
If you've been following this account for a while, you know that the first production 7-string guitar was the Gretsch George Van Eps model that was introduced in 1968. What you may not know is that 7-string guitars have been used to play Russian folk music since the end of the 18th century. The big difference between what we think of as a 7-string and the Russian version is the tuning. While we add a low B (BEADGBE), they tune their guitars to open G and add a B in the middle (DGBDGBD). The guitar in the picture, the Lunacharsky Classical Style 2, started production in 1964. It's an archtop acoustic with two F-holes. It looks like there's a pickup next to the bridge, but I don't see any controls for it. The slotted headstock is split 4/3.

The Darlings Of Lumberland - They Might Be Giants - Score Reduction And Analysis
A full reduction of The Darlings Of Lumberland, a co-composition between John Flansburgh and Stan Harrison for They Might Be Giants' album Nanobots. This one probably has a few errors in it as the percussion loop is made of samples that are difficult to ascertain the function of or pick out in a mix. One of the great strengths of They Might Be Giants is their ability to put an atonal woodwind feature on an alternative power-pop record and have it fit right in.
