Yeah, "sorry" and "sorrow" seem to me not to refer to the same sort of mental state. When I think "sorry" I think a kind of mild sympathy for others or a "rats, that sucks" feeling for myself. Sorrow is what is happening in Picasso's Guernica. (Or thereabouts.)

Interesting! But also we sometimes use "sorrow" as a noun - "my sorrows," and so on, which seems to refer to some state? But yeah that sentence is weird in a way that "I'm troubled that P" or "I'm disturbed that P" isn't.

They feel different to me, but maybe on a similar scale? Sorrow seems more all-encompassing somehow.

No, I mean I definitely prefer them, but I do find them very annoying. So maybe what I’m annoyed with isn’t the glasses so much as just the fact that I can’t see for shit anymore.
