DC Open Government Coalition

We believe a government that shows its work is a government that works for you. The DC Open Government Coalition fights for open records, open meetings and open data in Washington, DC. Together we shine light, build trust, and make democracy visible.
New @dcogc board member @kevinok.bsky.social has filed an important case on behalf of @freedom.press efforts to get ICE to respond to public records requests via #foia.
If ICE is too busy stalking daycare pickups to read their emails from Congress, they should really be thanking Lauren for FOIAing them
Our attorney @kevinok.bsky.social is spot on: “ICE will find hiding from FOIA harder than simply pulling on their balaclavas, which tend to be frowned on in court.”

The Coalition on April 14 wrote to groups across the city, urging them to contact the D.C. Council to reject anti-transparency legislation. Council’s plan is ill conceived and will harm the public’s right to know!. Letters at dcogc.org, on home page under Update. Contact rbecker@dcappeals.com
