Yesterday ~68 people employed in HHS's Administration for Children & Families early childhood offices were terminated. I'm told Office of Head Start lost ~20% of staff; Office of Child Care lost ~25%

Here's what happened yesterday re: federal funding. OMB issued a very broad memo essentially directing all federal agencies to stop disbursing grant funds. HHS stopped allowing grant recipients to draw down funds that had already been awarded to them. Grantees rightfully panicked that they wouldn't
