Week 6 - Clouds

With the weather being as uncooperative as it was this week, I pulled this shot from my archive to meet this week's challenge. Captured in 2012, this remains the most beautiful sunrise I've ever witnessed.

Week 5 - Leading Lines

"...The main object is placed in relation to other elements in the picture and the edges in such a way that the lines to the main object make it the focus without being placed directly in the middle..."

Week 4 - Blue Hour

"During twilight, well after sunset the horizon takes on hues of saturated blue in a dominant way, while the sky is still relatively bright. It is called blue 'hour'..."

Week 3: Window Light

"Positioning relative to the window is important... Play around with the possibilities: lateral position to the window, window behind the model, direct light from the window, etc."

Week 2 - Family

A candid moment: in their well-lit dining room, my parents build a puzzle they received for Christmas.

After shooting, I took it into Snapseed to warm the colors and add some digital lens blur to the edges.

Yesterday, a woman named Good was gunned down by a masked man working for the federal government. If that doesn't capture the zeitgeist of this fucked up era we're living in...

Week 1: Shadow

Most of Week 1's days had cloudy or snowy weather, but just before dusk on New Year's Day, I noticed sunlight streaming through the windows of my parents' bedroom. This image of Mom's dragon figurine became an instant favorite.

My ever-thoughtful girlfriend presented me with a challenge this year: 52 of them, to be exact. I'll be posting the results, so watch this space 😊

Going through some boxes today and I found some of my old glasses. The Harry Potter look never worked for me, but I loved those wooden frames.
