Slot on Isak: "It's going to be a long injury, a couple of months. That's a big, big, big disappointment for him and also for us."
December 23, 2025 at 9:11 AM
Conor Bradley is in with a chance of returning to training on Friday and is "50/50" to face Wolves. Cody Gakpo similar. Joe Gomez and Wataru Endo still out.

Only Erling Haaland has scored more non-penalty Premier League goals than Hugo Ekitike this season. The questions about Liverpool's decision to buy two centre-forwards over the summer seem to have gone quiet.

Liverpool’s six-match unbeaten run is proof that Arne Slot has stopped the rot to some extent, but they’re not playing well, are they?

Liverpool very poor all night and then truly dreadful after Tottenham went down to nine men, but that's another win, six unbeaten, and somehow level on points with fourth place. For now at least, the ends are justifying the means.

Jeremie Frimpong is set to return to the Liverpool squad to face Tottenham. Dominik Szoboszlai also back in training. Cody Gakpo and Joe Gomez will miss out, though Gakpo's injury not as serious as first feared.

Liverpool and Arne Slot steadied the ship by playing dull football in recent games, but there was an element of slickness going forward today that bodes well for genuinely turning a corner, I think.

Mohamed Salah soaking up the applause as he does a lap of Anfield - perhaps just in case. I think he showed today that it would be a travesty if he and Liverpool cannot make it work for each other between now and the end of the season.

Liverpool to face Brighton: Alisson, Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez, Gravenberch, Jones, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Wirtz, Ekitike.

Subs: Mamardashvili, Woodman, Isak, Salah, Chiesa, Robertson, Ramsay, Ngumoha, Lucky.

If Tuesday's win over Inter was something for Liverpool to build on, then today is the day to actually do it. Only three points to the top four, but that gap will only grow if there isn't a sustained improvement soon.
December 13, 2025 at 12:35 PM
Slot asked if he wants Salah to stay: "The next time I talk about Mo should be with him. I have no reasons to not want him to stay."
December 12, 2025 at 9:12 AM
Slot on whether injuries will affect the thinking for January? "I think it's helpful in the upcoming weeks we don't play as many games as now. I'm almost happy that we're out of the League Cup."
December 12, 2025 at 9:10 AM
Federico Chiesa is well again and will be back to face Brighton. Cody Gakpo has a muscle injury and Wataru Endo has an ankle injury.
December 12, 2025 at 9:03 AM
Slot on Salah's involvement against Brighton: "I will have a conversation with Mo this morning and that will determine how we move forward."
December 12, 2025 at 9:01 AM
Thought tonight was a win built in midfield and so big praise for Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones and, of course, Dominik Szoboszlai in this one.

This may have been a tight game decided by a soft penalty, but Liverpool wouldn't have been in a position to win that a few weeks ago given how porous they were. That they've tightened things up was key to an important win for their top-eight hopes and, of course, Arne Slot.

Liverpool travelling party for Inter - no Mohamed Salah: Alisson, Gomez, Van Dijk, Konate, Kerkez, Wirtz, Szoboszlai, Isak, Mac Allister, Bradley, Jones, Ekitike, Mamardashvili, Robertson, Woodman, Gravenberch, Nyoni, Ngumoha, Lucky.

Mohamed Salah involved in training ahead of Liverpool’s visit to Inter.

Did Mohamed Salah need to air this dirty linen in public? Should Arne Slot be singling him out when so few are playing well? And did Richard Hughes simply bow to fan sentiment in giving out that new deal? On a messy situation with no winners, only losers.

No winners in messy Mohamed Salah situation
Liverpool's legendary winger dropped a bombshell on Saturday to create an untenable situation that reflects poorly on player, head coach, and sporting director.

As had been the case against West Ham and Sunderland, Arne Slot went with a low-risk approach against Leeds that was working at 2-0 up. But the ends cannot justify if the means if you then go on to concede three goals to 16th in the league.

Those Salah quotes don’t bode well for Arne Slot. Were this simply a declining player hitting out as he’s justifiably sidelined, then it’d be different. But many of those selected ahead of him aren’t justifying it, which makes it seem like the issue is the setup, not one man.
December 6, 2025 at 9:10 PM
Even when Liverpool were controlling things up to 2-0 tonight, they were still about half-decent at best. Then it was a familiar story of awful errors, weakness, and dropped points. The question is: do we really believe this is the best this collection of players can muster?
December 6, 2025 at 7:33 PM
Conor Bradley has trained this week and is set to return to the Liverpool squad at Leeds.
December 5, 2025 at 9:17 AM
Slot on the possibility of a Chiesa start: "Every player has a possibility to start but we have many options to start in his position. Normally you bring a striker in to score a goal, but he kept running when a player might feel they can't do a lot. It tells you the mentality."
