Sunday, Sept. 14: Save the date for the 13th Halina Wind Preston Memorial Lecture on the Holocaust. Dr. Alfred Münzer was hidden as a child in Holland by an Indonesian family and their Muslim nanny. Free public event at the Siegel JCC in Wilmington sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Delaware.

My first published writing on the Holocaust was 47 years ago today on the Columbia Missourian front page. I was 23. I'm including snapshots of my parents from our July 1977 Israel trip, the focus of my piece. Tonight begins Yom HaShoah, the day on which we remember the tragedy that made me who I am.
