with Sharon @esjayclark.bsky.social, her useful contribution sparked us to see the comparison from Maggie O’Farrell’s bestseller novel. It highlighting the nature, pain, female isolation and influence! Some powerful scenes brought tears to your eyes!

Interesting discussion with @hardiewrites #DCAC @Wshed.bsky.social, after watching #DieMyLove, this film gave us a food of thought with some totally unexpected, terrified and shocking moments, (it even made us jump!). Really emotional and empathetic themes centred on female’s representation!

Another good #DCAC @Wshed.bsky.social follows up the Hollywood melodrama film, All That Heaven Allows.

With insightful introductory facts by Andrew Kelly, gives us more deeper understanding of Douglas Sirk as a director, with shooting styles in invisible political themes!

First ever #DCAC at Everyman, Bath, after watching @marleematlin.bsky.social’s powerful & moving ‘Not Alone Anymore’. Her journey experience as the first deaf Oscar winner highlights how audism persists since Milan 1880. This is one of the key issues where the deaf community have felt!

Great turnouts #DCAC @Wshed.bsky.social after watching ‘Deaf’ #Sorda with @hardiewrites. Interesting themes - relationship, family across generation, social norms and most importantly the role of language reflecting the reality of deaf lives within a ‘perfect’ world. Beautifully executed shootings!

Another interesting discussion throughout the evening #DCAC @Wshed.bsky.social, after watching #HotMilk. The film threw us at the bay to think about the theme/contents - independent, trauma, hardworking care but decent & envy relationship. Thanks to Sarah MacGregor for sharing details with us!

📣 Calling film exhibitors - Booking for Cinema Rediscovered on Tour is open!

Following its 9th edition, in Bristol, UNESCO City of Film, Cinema Rediscovered (Wed 23 July - Sun 27 July) launches a UK & Ireland tour of highlights celebrating the return of the big screen experience from August 2025.

Enjoyable watching the hard core, raw, crime drama, giving more authentic storyline! William and luke Snellin (director) did a great job with amazing cast and crew making this happening! High recommended to watch!!

Another good night after the screening of #Mickey17 #DCAC @wshed.bsky.social Mixed reactions during the discussion but this film and views from @TimonSingh
gave us a food of though over social power, human engagement, Bong Joon-Ho’s directing style and behind the production’s story!

What an evening at Cruzon, Hoxton, London! Enjoyable catch up with new and old faces and watched the premiere screening of Where The Light Get In - tv new moving drama & Chris Baker - comedy drama too!

What a night @wshed.bsky.social it marked our 9 years anniversary event - Deaf Convos About Cinema #DCAC. Mixed reactions after watching Nosferatu, so interesting comparing the original and modern films with arts setting, costumes with little visual effects. Thanks to Nathan Hardies for his input!
