Bewildered of Uxbridge. 300 years on from the enlightenment and the human race seems intent on shifting into reverse gear. Just about holding on to the view that love will conquer all.
Trump to release Epstein files, confident that his name will not be found. I do worry for Mr Ronald Strump, whose past was, until now, unblemished.

If Trump were somehow to successfully sue the BBC for $5bn (£4bn), over Panorama, he would have extorted a year’s worth of licence fees from every payer. He is suing us all.

Please stop expressing amazement that something like this could happen in such a nice place as Huntingdon. It didn’t. It’s where the express train stopped.

#celebritytraitors The round table discussions are mesmerising. Is it the recreation of the Salem Witch Trials, where every drowned woman turns out to have been innocent after all?

Unite the Kingdom? Is it for diversity, tolerance, prosperity and good governance? Does it help the renters? Those in insecure employment? The vulnerable in society? Alas, it’s opinionated blokes stirring up fear & hatred, bellowing their simple solutions, insisting that it is just common sense.

But if, in recent days, they have sold Oasis Wembley tickets at £200 for behind the goal, where neither screen nor stage can be seen, won’t this lead to indignant punters loitering or barging in places with a better view?

At Dundee 80s Discovery. Music is great. Bar is well-marshalled by counter-terrorism squad in hi-viz. Food is a nightmare: 4 carts for 10,000 people has led to frustrating queues.

My recent general sense of unease has disappeared now that Tortoise Media have developed a user-friendly interface for the Observer Everyman crossword.

If I were double-bagelled, I would take comfort from my £1.5m consolation prize and more than my allocated fifteen minutes of fame. Wimbledon tennis

I enjoyed Department Q on Netflix. The next series should be a Dept S & Q mash-up starring Akram and Jason King.

How can #Trainline sell you a ticket from a station that requires a paper ticket, but which has no facilities for issuing a paper ticket?

Saw Tim Crouch’s ´An Oak Tree´ at the Young Vic tonight. A play operating at more than one level. I couldn’t help but wonder if the character’s wife was called Dawn because you tie a yellow ribb… Maybe not.

I am still trying to process the information that Dame Andrea Jenkyns received 104,000 votes to become Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire for Reform. At the moment, it is beyond my comprehension.

Victoria Derbyshire asks the killer question. ‘If I shouldn’t believe his (Trump’s) words, what else is there?’ #newsnight

Just seen #sabrage in London Kings Cross. No spoilers. The highlight was: ‘they are eating the dawgs!’ And I will never watch Tom & Jerry the same way again.

In Britain, the equivalent of Trump taking over the Kennedy Centre would be Nigel Farage taking over the Southbank Centre and curating the annual Meltdown Festival.

Paul Heaton has such a beautiful voice. He was in Kingston tonight without a drummer. I did think that he wouldn’t feel the benefit when he went back out into the cold, but that jacket stayed zipped
up. #pryzm

Gobsmacked by Laura Kuenssberg in her questioning of Zelenskyy. Punch and Judy politics is her forte: will you apologise? Will you concede territory in principle? Alas, this is all a whole lot more serious than that. 🇺🇦

#duncel #dufc Not all nil-nil draws are exciting, but that one was. Excellent defending, United.

#imaceleb seems to have ramped out the adverts tonight. They could have wrapped it up for News at Ten to be on time for once.

#strictly public voting feels like Boaty McBoatface meets Brexit, what with Pete staying in again and everything…

I’m all for high standards in public office, but the Louise Haigh incident sets the bar impossibly high. Pillars of society whose adolescent selves forgot to settle their municipal library fines will be hounded out of office. Sometimes you just have to stand firm and insist on the triviality of it.
